2x2 Methods
Start small, dream big
Pocket cubes are perfect for young solvers. With fewer pieces to track, kids practice the same layer-by-layer thinking used on bigger puzzles.
Build the first layer
Match a face color with the correct side centers. Practice moving only corners you want to change.
Swap the top corners
Use a short algorithm to put every piece where it belongs without scrambling the finished layer.
Twist to finish
One final sequence rotates the last corner orientations. Cue the victory dance!
3x3 Methods
Layer-by-layer to CFOP legend
Start by solving the cube in layers. These seven checkpoints make every scramble feel manageable and build the habits future speedcubers rely on.
White Cross
Create a plus sign that lines up with side colors.
White Corners
Drop each corner into the right spot using R U R′ magic.
Middle Layer
Move edges into place with the Special Rabbit left/right moves.
Yellow Cross
Form a glowing plus on top with a short lightning pattern.
Yellow Edges
Spin the yellow edges until every color matches its center.
Yellow Corners
Teleport corners to the correct spots without flipping them yet.
Final Twists
Rotate the last corners. It looks scrambled and then—ta-da! solved.
CFOP Method
Speed upgrade: CFOP path
Ready for warp speed? CFOP splits the solve into four clever stages and adds algorithms that make muscle memory soar.
Cross + F2L
Pair corners and edges together so the first two layers drop in as a team. Intuitive practice comes first, algorithms later.
2-Look OLL
Ten top-layer patterns turn every piece yellow in just two quick movesets.
2-Look PLL
Six more patterns place every piece exactly where it belongs. Full CFOP has 78 total algorithms you can collect over time.
